Title:  Nandi Betta- A quiet bustle
(Inspired by the beauty of Nandi Hills, which is my frequent hide-out away from the city life)

Medium: Mixed media on canvas (acrylic paints, inks, real leaves, texture paste etc.)

My story:
This painting is inspired by my experience of Nandi Hills while staying at Mulberry Shades resort. The quiet morning in the lap of nature, with Nandi hill emerging out of clouds, the cool breeze with hint of mist, Red flame flowers in full bloom everywhere sending me into deep hypnosis. Just then, the stillness was broken by a bunch of mischievous monkeys playing on a Red Flame tree. I could see the mother closely watching over her little rascals while they jumped up & above, then suddenly leaped down. I remember the little monkey infants looked at me with curiosity while I silently observed them, possibly caught them in their playful acts. Then, one of them started playing hide & seek in the foliage; looking at me & then hiding behind the leaves (while still gazing at me). I was so deeply touched by their expressive behaviour that I wanted to capture their family in my story.
Again, it's not painted from any photo but just from the experience, the moments etched in my head. So you can see It's  painted in a very playful, abstract expressive way.

As always I started with no plan in my mind just the whole experience in my mind & I just let my heart take me where it wanted to go. For this painting, I used real leaves of the flame tree which are commonly seen all over Bengaluru for capturing the essence, the texture of the leaves. The bright & beautifulI Flame flowers are painted with a lot of texture with palette knife. 
I had so much fun creating this very unique painting & this painting is so close to my heart.
